Tomás F.D. Silva is a Computational Medicinal Chemist at AccelBio. He applies molecular modeling, and advanced simulation techniques to support drug discovery. He specializes in molecular modeling and docking, structure-based assessment of therapeutic molecules, and multi-drug resistance mechanisms. Before joining AccelBio, Tomás was a postdoctoral researcher at the Molecular and Statistical Biophysics Group at SISSA, Trieste, where he developed novel frameworks to characterize nucleic acid motifs and study their behavior under varying cellular conditions. During his PhD at the University of Lisbon, he worked on tumor-targeting technologies, lysosomotropic therapeutic compounds, and enzyme engineering, combining computational methods with experimental collaborations to optimize selectivity, activity, and pharmacokinetic profiles. Tomás holds a PhD and MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Lisbon.
